Anita joined forces with Ron in New York to record her latest album - Destiny. Anita caught the eye of Grammy award winner, Ron Thaler (see below) while doing a tour in New Zealand. He was amazed by her voice and offered to produce her single “La La La.”
Over the years she has developed her sound, songwriting and has now truly come into her own. Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Grammy Award winning, Ron Thaler, a.k.a. Blondie Boy, blazes trails around the world. With a career spanning a wide range of styles and disciplines, Ron has performed and recorded with many of the world’s finest artists including Dweezil Zappa, DJ Logic, Tess, Sarah McLachlan, The Led Zep Project, Alicia Keys, Rob Thomas, Sophie B. Hawkins, Moev, Mae Moore, Taj Mahal, Debra (Debbie) Gibson, Jason Yudoff, Kelly Saint Patrick, Simaku, Ashley Simpson, Kacie Sheik, Mercedes Ferrer, Lizzy Mercier, Taylor Dayne, Al DiMeola, Mike Stern, Hiram Bullock, Rufus Reid, Will Lee, Chip Jackson and Ray Anderson.
As one of the world's most in-demand drum clinicians, Ron has delivered a dizzying number of clinics and workshops throughout Europe, North America, South America and the South Pacific and continues to be invited to perform at many of the world’s largest drum festivals. Most recently, Ron has broadened his career to include work as a soundtrack composer for films and TV, both independent and other. Ron won a 2008 Grammy for his drumming/sampling work on Alicia Keys top-10 international hit, “No One”. In 2009, Kelly Saint Patrick’s alt-pop-country album “In The Margins” appeared on the Official Grammy Ballot in 4 categories: “Record of the Year” for her pop-country chart topping single “Shame On You” (co-written with Ron), “Best New Artist”, “Best Female Pop Vocal”, and another nod to Ron’s production touch with a nomination for “Producer of The Year”.
You could also see and hear Ron on NBC TV’s hit series “Lipstick Jungle” alongside actors, Brooke Shields and Andrew McCarty. Ron has a recurring on-camera role as part of (Sony/BMG) artists Project Grand Slam, whose album “Let’s Play” Ron produced, and whose music & performances are featured throughout the series.
Aaron Akins (USA)
Aaron Akins is one of the most versatile vocalists and song writers in the music business.
Aaron Akins created the concept and was the inspiration for the Nat "King" Cole's "Re:Generations" (King Cole Partners, EMI/Capitol, 2009) recent release CD, that the Cole family, led by Natalie and the late Carole Cole. Artists on the album include as Will.i.am, Cee-Lo Green, Nas, Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, Stephen Marley, Natalie Cole and TV on the Radio, among others.
His background includes the North Sea Jazz Festival in 1997 along with Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock and Eric Clapton, as well as opening for Bob Hope and recording with Henry Nemo (the legendary songwriter of Tis Autumn, I Let a Song Go Out of My Heart and Don't Take Your Love From Me, recorded by artists like Frank Sinatra, Art Tatum, Artie Shaw, Tommy Dorsey, Mildred Bailey, Lena Horn and especially Duke Ellington).
Aaron's collaborations include working with Darryl Phinnessee (who had already worked with Michael Jackson and Quincey Jones, ''Frasier'', “Kids Say The Darnest Things” for The Cosby Show and “Dancing with the Stars”), Darryl Swann (Macy Gray), Anthony Hamilton, Bill Steinway (Natalie Cole), Michael Thompson (Don Henley), Lance Morrison (Alanis Morissette), James Allen (Stevie Wonder) and Angie Stone.
He performed for the Pope on Christmas Day (2000), during the Great Jubilee, as well as "House of Blues" (June 9, 2005), American Society of Young Musicians, honoring Lisa-Marie Presley, Solomon Burke, Common, Josh Groban, The Goo Goo Dolls, Ben Harper and Dwight Yoakam.
Currently the song God Made Women Beautiful, written and recorded by Aaron Akins for his CD Love is All Around, is being played on over 250 internet radio stations on Live365.com for an audience of over 2,000,000 listeners.
